What the job involved

The work on a white German finish is mostly decontamination rather than correction. We start with an iron remover and let it dwell so embedded fallout can dissolve; on a white panel you can watch it bleed purple, which tells you exactly how much metal was sitting in the clear coat. That step matters more here than on any dark color, because those particles are what turn white paint dingy rather than dull.

After decon the surface gets a mechanical pass to lift whatever chemistry left behind, then the paint is dried and inspected under angled light. White demands a different inspection habit than black: you are looking for texture and cast, not for swirl patterns, so a light source held low across the panel tells you more than one held overhead.

BMW clear coat runs harder than most Japanese finishes, which means it resists marring but also takes longer to correct when marring is present. On this finish we favor a lighter cut worked longer over an aggressive pad, since the goal on a white car is clarity and uniformity rather than the deep reflection you chase on a dark color. Protection goes on last, chosen for UV stability, because the Triangle sun is what turns unprotected white plastic trim and rubber gray long before the paint gives up.
