WHAT THE RALEIGH-AREA CLIMATE DOES TO PAINT
The local conditions detailing has to handle.
UV and heat
Roughly four months a year you'll see 90-plus afternoons here. UV index hits 9 or 10 on a clear July day. Paint that lives outside takes a measurable hit every season. Sealants flash off faster. Carnauba wax melts off the panel inside a month once summer settles in. So the chemistry we run is UV-stable across the board, with reapplication intervals built around NC sun.
Pollen and tree sap
Wake and Durham counties grow oaks, pines, and tulip poplars in tight canopy. Spring pollen coats every vehicle for six to eight weeks. Summer sap drops on parked cars year-round. Both are acidic on the clear coat if they sit. Quarterly decon isn't a luxury here. It's what keeps the paint surface honest. We size the wash schedule to your specific street and tree mix.
Brine and freeze-thaw
NC DOT pre-treats every winter weather event with brine. We get less salt than the mountains, but enough that undercarriage neglect turns into visible corrosion inside three to five years. A salt rinse after each brine event, plus an undercarriage flush in early spring, keeps frame rust from showing up at the resale inspection.
Humidity and interior
Average summer humidity sits at 70 percent or higher for months at a stretch. Interiors that pick up moisture (wet floor mats after a soccer practice, an AC condensate leak you didn't notice, a spilled drink that got under the seat) grow mold faster here than they would in dry climates. So we carry an antimicrobial treatment standard. Not just for visibly wet cars.

The team did a great job at restoring the black paint on my 12 year old car. It was covered in unsightly water spots and now it looks spectacular. Thanks! So happy we were able to get those water spots…

FAQS
Common questions.
Can you detail an RV at a storage lot?
Usually yes. We detail RVs at storage facilities across the Triangle, bringing our own water and power. The one requirement is the facility allowing wash work on site, which we confirm with the lot before scheduling.
Can you pressure wash an engine?
No, not at high pressure. Low pressure (garden hose with fan nozzle) is fine on a cool engine with sensitive electronics covered. High pressure aimed into a connector or ECU causes water intrusion and electrical damage.
Can you put ceramic coating over PPF?
Yes. And it is a common recommendation. Ceramic over PPF makes the film easier to clean, reduces water spotting, and protects against UV. The film itself has its own topcoat, so ceramic over PPF is gloss + maintenance benefit, not protection bump.
Can you really remove pet hair from a car?
Yes. Heavy pet hair takes 60-90 extra minutes but it all comes out. Combination of vacuum, rubber pet-hair tools, steam to loosen, and extraction. Even Golden Retriever shedding on cloth.
Can you remove bugs and tar from motorcycle fairings?
Yes, with soak time and solvents matched to the surface rather than scrubbing. Bug remains are acidic and etch fairing paint fast in summer heat, so the front of the bike gets treated first on every wash we do.
Can you remove marijuana smell from a car?
Yes. Same process as cigarette smoke. Deep clean of all surfaces including headliner, overnight ozone treatment, vent system fog. The resin component is harder to remove than tobacco smoke but the process works.
