What is a clay bar treatment?
A clay bar pulls bonded contamination off the paint that no wash can remove. Overspray, tree sap residue, industrial fallout, brake dust embedded in clear coat. Your paint feels like glass when we are done.

When to pick something else.
If your paint already feels smooth (slide your fingertip across through a plastic bag. Should glide), clay is not needed. Doing clay on smooth paint wastes time and risks light marring.

How often do I need claying?
Once or twice a year for daily drivers. Before any paint correction or coating, always.
Does claying damage paint?
Done right with proper lube, no. Done wrong (dropped clay, dry clay, heavy-grade on light contamination), it can mar the clear coat.
How do I know if my car needs it?
The plastic bag test. Slide your fingertip across the paint through a sandwich bag. Rough = needs claying. Smooth = does not.
