Detailing question
How do you clean roof racks and cargo carriers?
Clean roof racks with the same shampoo used on the vehicle. Dry every joint and pivot to prevent corrosion. Lubricate locking mechanisms with PTFE-based lubricant (not WD-40. Too thin, evaporates).

For cargo carriers (Yakima, Thule), inspect interior for moisture every 3 months, treat any rust spots immediately. Cross-bars and accessories last 10+ years with care.
