Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

In some form, yes. The coating locks in whatever is underneath, including swirl marks and water etching. Single-step correction is the minimum on any coated vehicle.

A brand-new car (under 30 days from delivery) with no wash marks may only need a chemical decon and a light polish, not full correction. We will tell you honestly after the inspection.

Why is correction so important before coating?

The coating is permanent for years. Any swirl mark or water spot under it stays visible for years. Correction is the only chance to remove them before the lock-in.

Will a one-step correction be enough?

For 60-70 percent of cars, yes. Heavily marred dark colors and luxury cars want two-stage.

Can I skip correction if the paint looks fine to me?

Pull the car into bright sunlight and look across the hood at an angle. If you see swirls or water spots, they need to go before the coating.
