What’s the difference between polish and compound?
Compound is more aggressive. Coarser abrasive particles that remove defects faster but leave a haze. Polish is finer. Refines the surface and brings up gloss. Two-stage correction uses compound first to cut defects, then polish to refine.
The primary difference between a compound and a polish lies in their abrasive particle size and intended application during paint correction. A compound contains larger, more aggressive abrasive particles designed to remove deeper paint defects rapidly.
