How the calculation works
- Current monthly cost = fleet size × current cost per wash × frequency
- Current monthly downtime cost = fleet size × (downtime ÷ 60) × frequency × revenue/hour
- New monthly cost = fleet size × our cost per wash × frequency
- Downtime savings = current downtime cost (we wash at your yard during idle hours, zero vehicle downtime)
- Net monthly savings = (current cost + current downtime cost) − new cost
The downtime assumption is the lever most fleet managers underestimate. A delivery van out of service for 30 minutes during a wash is 30 minutes of route capacity lost. We wash at your yard during the idle window (before dispatch, after return), so the downtime cost goes to zero in our program.
Caveats
- If your fleet washes during downtime already (third-shift wash bay, drivers wash on overtime), the downtime savings are smaller
- If your current cost per wash includes water and chemical sourcing, that is already counted
- If you have a tunnel wash contract at $4 per vehicle, our per-wash cost will not beat that — but our quality, on-site service, and zero-downtime model will
