No. Ceramic coating prevents chemical damage (water spots, UV, bird droppings) and reduces light marring. It does not stop physical scratches from gravel, keys, or improper washing. PPF stops scratches; ceramic does not.

I heard ceramic is 9H hard — does that not stop scratches?

9H means the coating itself resists scratch from a 9H pencil. It does not mean your paint is invincible. A rock or tunnel-wash brush goes right through it.

What does ceramic protect against then?

Water spots, bird droppings, sap, UV fading, light wash-induced marring, and chemical staining. The hydrophobic surface also makes washing easier.

Should I get PPF and ceramic?

For new daily drivers, yes — that is the standard package now.
