Question Β· Ceramic Coating
Is ceramic coating worth it?
If you keep your car 3+ years and care about how it looks, yes. If you trade every 2 years, get a sealant instead.
This question is part of our Ceramic Coating service. See the full service overview, what's included, and how to schedule a walk-around.
WHEN THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT CALL
When to pick something else.
Lease return in 18 months. Trade-in within 2 years. Beater truck for the trades. In all three cases the math does not work.
FAQS
Common follow-up questions.
Will it pay back at resale?
A documented ceramic coating with maintenance records adds 1-3 percent to resale on a 3-year-old car. Not life-changing. The real return is in how the car looks while you own it.
Can I do it myself?
The chemistry is available. The prep is the hard part β alkaline strip, iron remover, clay bar, single or two-stage paint correction, alcohol wipe. Without that prep, a DIY coating fails fast.
Is a cheap ceramic coating worth it?
A 200-dollar ceramic coating is a 200-dollar sealant with marketing on it. We have stripped enough of them.

The team did a great job at restoring the black paint on my 12 year old car. It was covered in unsightly water spots and now it looks spectacular. Thanks! So happy we were able to get those water spots…
