How often should a boat be detailed in North Carolina?
A full detail with protection once a year, ideally before the season starts, plus a mid-season wash-and-seal touch-up. Uncovered boats or wet-slip boats need attention roughly twice as often.
NC boating season runs long, April into October, and that is seven months of UV, lake scum, and spider droppings working on the finish. The pattern that keeps boats looking right without wasted spend: one thorough detail in early spring so the boat enters the season protected, then a lighter mid-summer service to refresh the sealant on the horizontal surfaces where sun does the most damage.
Storage is the multiplier. Covered and trailered boats hold their finish twice as long as uncovered ones. If the boat sits outside uncovered, honestly, a decent cover pays for itself faster than any detailing schedule we could sell you.
