Can you detail a car that parks under trees?
Yes, and we detail a lot of them. Tree-parked cars in the Triangle collect sap, pollen film, and shed leaf tannin. The exterior detail adds a tar-and-sap removal step and usually a light decon before any protection goes on.
Oaks and pines dominate Triangle neighborhoods, and each brings its own mess. Pine sap lands as sticky droplets that harden into amber dots. Oak canopies drop pollen strings in spring and tannin-stained water every time it rains. Left alone, sap bonds hard enough that scraping it risks the paint underneath.
Our process on a tree-parked car: wash, then a dedicated solvent pass for sap and tar, then a clay or chemical decon so the surface is genuinely clean, then protection selected for how the car actually lives. We would rather set up a realistic maintenance rhythm for a shaded driveway than sell one heroic detail that the tree undoes in a month.
