Question Β· Exterior Detailing
How do you protect car paint through a Triangle summer?
Three things: UV-stable protection on the paint, quick removal of bird droppings and sap before they etch, and washing in the shade or early morning so water does not flash-dry into spots on 90-degree panels.
July UV in the Triangle regularly hits index 9 and 10, and a dark hood parked in the open can pass 160 degrees. At that temperature, bird droppings and tree sap etch into clear coat within hours, not days. Carnauba-type waxes soften and shed quickly in that heat, so the protection we run in summer is polymer or ceramic-based chemistry rated for UV load.
The habit that saves the most paint costs nothing: keep a small bottle of quick detailer and a clean microfiber in the trunk, and lift droppings and sap the day they land. Protection buys you time, but time still runs out in direct August sun.

WHEN THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT CALL
When to pick something else.
Garage-kept cars that drive occasionally mostly need the quick-removal habit, not a heavier protection package.

Extra pro crew! These boys took the time to make sure it was exactly right. Thanks so much for being able to get that scratch out for you and preserve the ceramic coating on it.
